About Thompson's Lawn Services

Thompson's Lawn Services keeps its mowers turning over the grass of Derry, New Hampshire — a town of stone walls and drumlin slopes, where Beaver Brook slips under the road and brick storefronts hold the late light along Broadway. The work here is lawn care, plainly and gladly: the pass and the return pass, the stripe laid true, the trimmer line running clean along a granite step and around a mailbox post. There is a real pleasure in the moment the engines cut out and a yard goes quiet with its edges freshly drawn, clippings breathing that green smell into a Rockingham County afternoon. Yard by yard, in Derry and the towns around it, a lawn gets a shape it can hold until the next week comes back around.
