On a January morning the red covered bridge into Jackson wears a foot of snow on its roof and the light off Thorn Mountain is nearly blue. NuRock Creations is already out in it — plowing driveways, clearing walks and steps, sanding and salting the pitches that glaze over in the shade. Village properties sit tight to the road and mountain properties sit a quarter mile off it, so the routes take patience and a good memory for where the pavement ends.
