In April, when the frost finally lets go and Bethlehem's back roads soften into brown ribbon above the Ammonoosuc, the digging season opens again in the White Mountains. T's Excavation Landscape Construction works the ground here — foundation excavation and site preparation, land clearing and grading, driveways cut and crowned to shed water, drainage systems and utility trenching, septic installation and repair, retaining walls stacked against a hillside that wanted to move. When the earthwork is done they finish it green, laying lawn by hydroseed or sod so a raw slope comes back soft by August, and they build too: homes, garages and outbuildings, remodels, underground shelters, paint inside and out. Then winter turns the same driveways white, and the plow goes out ahead of the light to open them again. It is honest, physical work, and it leaves its mark the best way — a yard that drains, a grade that holds, a road home that stays passable in February.
