Brent Paradis works the stony hill-country soil around Bennington, where the Contoocook slips past the village mill and the afternoon light comes in sideways off the ridges. His is landscape design, plantings, and maintenance: beds drawn to fit the slope they're given, bluestone and concrete paver patios set true over ground that would rather not lie flat, water features that hand a yard a sound as well as a shape.
