About Burgess Landscaping Services

Late October in Barrington turns the oaks along the Isinglass to rust, and the ledge underfoot starts giving up its heat by four in the afternoon. Burgess Landscaping Services builds for that ground — patios and walkways set true over glacial stone, steps and retaining walls that hold a slope, grading and drainage cut so April's runoff has somewhere to go besides the lawn. They put in pools and the decks that frame them, raise privacy screens, and keep lawns and commercial grounds tended straight through the green months. Come February, when a storm crosses in off Swains Lake and buries the back roads, the same work turns to snow removal before first light. What stays behind is the plain satisfaction of it: a tight joint in the stone, a yard that drains, a driveway black and open at dawn.
