October turns the meadows near the Massabesic Audubon Center to rust and gold, and every gust sends another season's worth of leaves down onto Auburn lawns. Trophy Lawns follows them down — leaf cleanups, mowing right to the end of the growing weeks, edges kept sharp while the light lasts. Then the wind shifts north and the work becomes plowing: driveways opened, walkways cleared, ice knocked back before morning. Spring runs the film backward, clearing what the plows and the wind left behind so the grass can come in even. A lawn that looks good in July and a drive you can back out of in January turn out to be the same job, six months apart.
