Alexandria is a hill town: dirt roads climbing away from the Fowler River toward Cardigan, driveways that turn twice before they reach a house. Snow up here does not politely stay on the flat. Fischer Plowing pushes it back where it belongs — drives opened end to end, turnarounds cleared wide enough to actually turn around in, walkways cut through to the door. Whether it is one storm or the whole winter, the route runs before the sun clears the ridge. On the cold blue mornings afterward, with Cardigan white against the sky and every drive open, the work makes plain sense.
