About Bodwell Construction Inc.

The grain elevator standing over Wisner is usually the last thing lit before a winter storm and the first thing visible again once it passes, its concrete columns pale against a gray sky. Bodwell Construction Inc. works through those in-between hours, plowing driveways and lots on the streets nearest the Elkhorn River while the town is still mostly dark. Downstream from West Point, the river here runs shallow and slow in the cold months, ice creeping in from both banks toward a thin channel of open water. Getting a job finished before anyone's awake to see it is its own reward, a driveway bare, edges clean, waiting there when the porch light finally comes on. Wisner is small enough that word travels fast when the streets turn up clear before sunrise.
