Owen's Mowing

About Owen's Mowing

A freight rolls through Valley and the sound spreads out over the short blocks, and then it's quiet again except for a mower two streets over. Owen's Mowing keeps those blocks looking after themselves — grass cut, edges run along the sidewalks, concrete blown off so it shows clean. Yards near the Platte grow strong in the sandy loam and reward regular passes far more than heroic ones. In September, when the days shorten and the last cuts of the year come easier, the leaf work starts up. Small town, ordinary yards, tended like they matter — because to the people living in them, they do.
