Tom's Lawn Care

About Tom's Lawn Care

Scribner sits on the Elkhorn River in Dodge County, and in deep winter the river goes quiet under ice while snow piles up across the valley. Tom's Lawn Care is at work by the first gray light on those mornings, plowing driveways and clearing sidewalks, and the town heads off to school and work without a shovel in hand. When the thaw sends the Elkhorn running high and brown each spring, the lawns green up fast behind it, and Tom's puts the blade away and takes up the mower, keeping every yard cut and sharply trimmed. There is honest pride in both jobs: the first car out of a cleanly plowed drive, the first crisp stripe across a new season's grass. Same river town, same careful hands, every month on the calendar.
