Baldo's Lawn Care

About Baldo's Lawn Care

On a still morning the Platte lays a low fog along the south edge of Schuyler, and it burns off about the time the first mower starts. Baldo's Lawn Care runs the town lots from there — clean passes across the flat front yards, trimming close to porch steps and chain link, an edge cut along the walk that holds its line for a week. This country is generous with growth in June and July; corn and lawn both push hard, and keeping ahead of it means a schedule kept faithfully rather than one heroic afternoon. When the maples along the residential streets finally let go, the crew comes back through for cleanups, carrying off what the season leaves behind. Around the corner from the Oak Ballroom or out on the acreages toward the river, a finished yard looks the same: even, edged, and squared to the sidewalk.
