Redd's Lawn

About Redd's Lawn

South of Red Cloud the Republican River winds through its wide valley, and on summer evenings thunderheads build over it until the whole sky seems to hold its breath. Redd's Lawn, a name that echoes the town's own, works in the green that rain leaves behind. After a storm the grass in this valley seems to grow while you watch, and steady mowing keeps it from getting the upper hand. Edges are cut clean, clippings are kept off the walks, and corners get trimmed by hand where a mower can't reach. That is the finish Redd's goes after: a yard that looks freshly made even as the prairie wind moves through everything around it.
