Alpine Grounds Co.

About Alpine Grounds Co.

West of downtown the ground tilts, and Papillion's streets ride a run of low ridges that catch whatever wind is coming across the open country beyond. Alpine Grounds Co. keeps lawns on that rolling side of town, where a slope changes how a mower has to be walked and a careless pass shows from three houses down. The work is mowing, trimming, edging and seasonal cleanup, done so a graded yard reads as one continuous sheet of green instead of a patchwork of directions. Late light rakes sideways across a fresh cut up here and every stripe stands up in it. Nebraska ground is generous when you meet it on its own terms, and meeting it that way is the habit here.
