Mike's Sprinkler Service

About Mike's Sprinkler Service

Every March, sandhill cranes settle by the thousands onto the braided channels of the Platte south of Overton, and some years a late blizzard shows up right along with them. Interstate 80 runs between the town and the river, and when wind-driven snow lands on this flat valley, everyone needs a way out of the driveway. Mike's Sprinkler Service does snow removal in Overton, clearing drives and sidewalks after storms cross the central Platte. There is a particular satisfaction in a shoveled path at dawn with the cranes calling overhead, the work finished and the day open. Winter on the Platte can be hard and beautiful at once, and a clear drive takes care of the hard part.
