About Patera Landscaping

Turner Park's open lawn in Aksarben Village goes stiff with frost most winter mornings, geese still working the edges of the field before Patera Landscaping's trucks turn toward the surrounding driveways and lots. The neighborhood was built where a horse track once stood, and the wide, flat blocks around it catch wind coming straight off the prairie with nothing to slow it down, which means drifts pile against garage doors faster than in the older, tighter parts of the city. The crew plows those lots in long clean passes, shovels the walks up to each door, and lays down ice melt where the morning sun won't reach until afternoon. A driveway that was a solid sheet of white at 6 a.m. is bare pavement by the time anyone needs to leave for work. It's the same eye for grade and drainage that shapes a lawn in summer, put to work keeping a street passable in the cold months.
