About Sprinklers Stoddard

September, last light, out where the old cottonwoods at Scout's Rest still stand watch over the ranch house — the day's heat finally leaving, the ground at last willing to drink. Sprinklers Stoddard works the tail end of the day and the front of it, mowing while the grass is cool, edging the walks, trimming where the deck cannot follow. Feeding and weed control carry the turf through the dry stretches North Platte always delivers, and a fall cleanup carries it out of the year. Grass here is grown on purpose, never by luck. On the doorstep of the Sandhills, a green yard is somebody's steady habit.
