About American Fence Company

Out past the west edge of North Platte the pavement gives up and the pasture takes over, and the wind comes across all that open ground with nothing left to slow it. American Fence Company keeps lawns out here holding their shape against that much sky — mowed in even passes, the edge cut clean where turf meets gravel and drive. A yard on the Lincoln County flats is a small argument for order, and it is worth winning. Crews trim the corners a deck can never reach, clear the litter of cottonwood twigs the wind files into the fence line, and feed the grass until it comes back thicker than whatever was competing with it. By late afternoon the shadows run long across a lawn that looks deliberate all the way from the road.
