A+ Lawn & Snow

About A+ Lawn & Snow

It comes once or twice a January: the hour the wind finally lies down, the whole town goes blue and silent, and A+ Lawn & Snow is out in it. Snow here doesn't only fall, it travels — off the open ground north of town it moves in long ropes and piles against anything that stands still, driveways included. Plowing, shoveling the walk to the step, salting the slick apron by the garage: the point is a person leaving for work at six who never has to think about it. When the ground thaws, the same trucks come back for mowing, trimming and edging, and the year turns over without a gap. A yard kept at both ends of the calendar has a look to it, and Norfolk yards show it.
