About Ellis Lawn and Sprinkler
Every fall Ellis Lawn and Sprinkler walks Minden's residential blocks capping off irrigation heads for the season, and by the time the first real snow falls they know those yards — where the ground slopes toward a sidewalk, where a low spot holds water and will hold ice. That knowledge turns into winter work: driveways and walks cleared block by block on quiet streets shaded by old elms and maples, the kind of work that gets done while most of the neighborhood is still asleep. Kearney County's cold snaps can be sharp and sudden, dropping temperatures fast enough to turn yesterday's slush into today's ice sheet, and a crew that already knows a yard's low spots has a head start on where that ice will form. The goal each morning is the same one they carry from summer: a property that looks tended, whatever the season is doing to it. A shoveled walk and a scraped drive are a small thing, but they're the difference between an easy morning and a bad fall on someone's front steps.
