About Liberty Grading and Excavation

Liberty is a village of a few dozen people in Gage County, set among farm fields a few miles north of the Kansas line, where gravel roads run arrow-straight along the section lines. Liberty Grading and Excavation is a business built around moving earth, and in winter it turns to snow removal. After a storm the job is clearing drives and lanes so trucks can roll and the day can start. In this southeast corner of Nebraska, weather can swing from freezing rain to wind-driven snow in one afternoon, and a clear way out matters. When the sky goes enormous and blue again over the stubble fields, a freshly opened lane looks like the first line drawn on a clean page.
