Keystone sits on the North Platte just below Lake McConaughy, a small Keith County village where the Sandhills slope down to the water and the Little Church was built to hold two congregations under one roof. Keystone Sod keeps lawns green and trimmed in this high, dry country, where a mowed yard stands out bright against the tan grassland around it. Summer evenings carry the smell of the lake and the murmur of the river, and a fresh-cut lawn in that long light feels like an oasis. When winter turns the valley white and the wind comes hard off the hills, the work shifts to snow removal, opening drives and walks across this quiet river town. Either season, the result is the same small gift: a place that looks cared for in a landscape that asks a lot of it.
