About Sargent Irrigation

Holdrege grew up on the labor of Swedish homesteaders, and the Phelps County seat still carries that sturdy, practical spirit along its downtown blocks and around the courthouse. Sargent Irrigation, an irrigation business by trade, clears snow in town when winter shuts the streets down, opening driveways and walkways one pass at a time. Snow can come late here, deep into March, when sandhill cranes are already gathering on the Platte to the north and spring seems close enough to touch. Clearing a drive on one of those mornings, with cranes passing high overhead, is a reminder that this season always gives way. Until it does, there is work to do, and a clean driveway to show for it.
