About Firefly Lawn and Landscaping

Before sunrise over Phelps County there's a stretch of time when the frost on Holdrege's yards catches the streetlights and glitters across every lawn Firefly Lawn and Landscaping mowed all summer, and that's when the crew is already out plowing. Holdrege sits flat against the horizon, open enough that a hard January wind can push snow across a driveway faster than a truck can clear it. The crew works the same residential blocks they know from summer — same driveways, same corner lots — clearing them down to concrete before the wind has a chance to refill them. Out toward the grain elevators along Highway 6, a plowed lot means the first trucks of the morning can get in and out without spinning a tire. It's early, cold work, done in the dark, so that Holdrege wakes up to bare pavement instead of drifts.
