Cedar Lawn Cemetery

About Cedar Lawn Cemetery

In September the combines start rolling across York County, and harvest dust drifts gold over the fields around Gresham. Cedar Lawn Cemetery is kept with lawn care through that busy season, the grass trimmed low and even while the whole countryside hurries to bring the crop in. There's a stillness here the mowing honors: slow turns at the end of each row, tidy trimming around the stones, nothing rushed. Out past the edge of the village the center pivots stand idle for the year, and the evening light arrives long and amber. It's a place for remembering, and a well-tended lawn is one way a farm community says it hasn't forgotten.
