Every October, Tri-State Sprinkler Systems blows the irrigation lines clear under the orchard ground and lawns south of Gering toward Robidoux Pass, and by December that same crew is back on those properties with a different blade. Knowing where a buried line runs under a yard means knowing exactly where the frost bites hardest and where a driveway edge sits once a storm has erased it — useful knowledge when six inches of snow makes every yard look the same. The irrigation canals that feed this stretch of the North Platte valley ice over solid most winters, still and silver between fields gone white, while the roads along them still need clearing every morning. Tri-State works those same rural drives and the closer-in Gering streets both, moving from gravel lane to residential curb without much pause. It's the same ground, worked two different ways depending on the month.
