About Eckert's Lawn Co.

Summer teaches Eckert's Lawn Co. a David City yard by its stripes — which way the mower ran, where the shade from an old elm keeps the grass thin. Come the first snow, that familiarity turns into knowing exactly where a driveway narrows at the garage or where a front walk holds ice longest after the sun clears the roofline. The crew's plow leaves the first tracks down plenty of David City's residential streets before most of town has poured its coffee, working the same list of addresses it mowed all season, just trading green stripes for cleared pavement. There's something steady in tending a property year-round like that, watching it change through whatever David City's weather sends and showing up ready for each version of it.
