About JS Brothers Tree Service Inc

The cottonwoods along the Missouri River bottom near Dakota City carry ice differently than anything upland does — heavier, lower, closer to snapping — and JS Brothers Tree Service knows those branches from summers spent pruning them back from power lines and driveways. Come winter, the trucks that haul brush switch over to plow blades, clearing the same lanes they've walked all year, because a crew that already knows which driveway narrows at the tree line is the crew that clears it fastest. There's a certain calm in working a route you know tree by tree, headlights picking out a familiar bend in the road under six inches of new snow. Around Dakota City and the river towns near it, that's the season's second job — same roads, different weather to answer.
