Blairs Tree Service Excavating and Repair

About Blairs Tree Service Excavating and Repair

Blair sits up on the bluffs above the Missouri, and its streets don't run in a simple grid so much as switch back and climb, following the shape of the hills the town was built into. Blairs Tree Service Excavating and Repair works those grades all winter, since a storm here doesn't lie flat the way it would on open prairie — it collects on the uphill side of every street and slides toward the low corners at the bottom of each block. The crew clears from the top of the bluff down, letting gravity do some of the work the plow blade doesn't have to, then circles back to clean up what gathered at the bottom. From the highest streets in town you can see clear down into the river valley and the bottomland fields on the Iowa side, a view that only gets sharper once the storm has passed and the air clears. It's hill work more than flatland work, matched to a town that never quite sits level.
