The first warm week of March in Bellevue smells like thawed ground, and up on the higher streets the turf comes out of winter flattened, matted and gray, waiting for someone to wake it. That week is when Tops Lawn Care starts: raking out the dead thatch, clearing the winter debris the wind piled against the foundations, cutting the beds back to a hard line and laying fresh mulch. Then the first mow of the year goes down, and a yard that looked finished in February looks like the beginning of something. From there we carry it forward — regular cutting, edging, trimming — until the leaves come back down in fall and we clear those too. Bellevue winters are long enough that the turn matters, and being the crew that makes the turn visible is a good way to spend a spring.
