Schaupps Siding

About Schaupps Siding

Ashton is small enough that the grain elevator is still the tallest thing on the skyline, and the rail line past it marks the edge of a town you could walk across in ten minutes. Schaupps Siding, better known for the work it does on the outside of houses come summer, keeps a plow mounted on a truck for the handful of streets and driveways here once the Sherman County snow starts drifting off the fields. There isn't much distance to cover, but what falls out here blows hard across open ground long before it comes to rest near any fence line, so drifts pile deep against porches and pole barns alike. Clearing a driveway in Ashton means clearing it against wind that had all of Sherman County to build up speed. It's quick, direct work in a place where everyone notices when a street gets plowed.
