Kister's Handyman Service

About Kister's Handyman Service

Zap is small enough to cross in a minute, yet one spring in 1969 the whole country learned its name. Kister's Handyman Service brings a fix-it spirit to snow removal in this Mercer County town, out in the lignite country where buttes rise tawny above the plains and winter barrels in hard from the west. A handyman knows a job isn't finished while there's still something left to trip over, and the same rule holds for a step or a drive: square edges, packed corners chipped loose, a shoveled line straight to the door. On a short December afternoon, when the sun sits just above the buttes and turns their snow the color of honey, a cleared path home is a small kindness.
