Just south of Trenton, the Yellowstone River empties into the Missouri near the old fort at Buford, and Trenton Lake, the oxbow that gives Lake View Services LLC its name, sits back from that meeting of waters holding its own quiet winter light. Fog rises off open water even in the coldest months where the rivers haven't fully locked up, and some mornings it settles thick over Trenton's streets before the sun burns it off. Lake View Services LLC plows driveways and lots through that fog on a route running from the lake side of town out toward the bluffs above the Missouri, working the low ground first where cold air pools hardest overnight. The bottomland near the rivers holds snow differently than the bluffs above it, heavier and slower to blow clear, and the plow work slows down to match it. Up the road, Williston's lights show over the bluff line after dark, but Trenton keeps its own smaller grid running on its own schedule. By midmorning the fog usually lifts on its own, leaving the lake road open under whatever the day's sky decides to do next.
