Outdoor FX

About Outdoor FX

Late June, noon, heat shimmering off the pavement near Roosevelt Park — the two months Minot spends every winter waiting for. Outdoor FX spends them cutting grass, running the trimmer along fences and foundations, and squaring off edges until a yard reads as a shape instead of a sprawl. This far north the daylight runs nearly to ten o'clock, which means a long working day and lawns that grow like they know their time is short. The pleasure of it is the before-and-after: shaggy and formless at the start of the hour, striped and crisp at the end. Homes and businesses around town get the same treatment, week after week, while the season allows.
