Wind through Mandan's newer subdivisions does not so much drop snow as rearrange it, and Donkey Dynamics has built its route around that fact, working the streets on the edge of town where open fields still push drifts across the driveways. The crew reads each yard before touching it, since a drift that looks small can be waist-deep where the wind piled it against a garage. Plowing here means patience as much as horsepower, working a driveway in sections instead of one straight run through packed snow. Sidewalks get shoveled clean down to the concrete, corners included, so a walk to the mailbox does not turn into a slog. Once a street is done, the crew checks it again after the wind has had another hour to work, because out here the job is rarely finished after just one pass. It is steady, unglamorous work suited to a town where the weather rarely cooperates the first time.
