Polar Plowing Service

About Polar Plowing Service

There's nothing between Horace and the horizon in any direction — no bluff, no windbreak old enough to matter yet — so a winter storm coming up the interstate corridor arrives here with its full force still intact. Polar Plowing Service works that exposure head-on, clearing driveways in neighborhoods where a good gust can undo a finished job before the truck's even out of the cul-de-sac. The town's growth has outpaced the trees that would normally break up a valley wind like this, so clearing here means accepting a second or third pass some mornings rather than trusting the first one to hold. It's blunt, honest winter work suited to a blunt, honest kind of cold, out where the wind gets a completely straight run at everything in its path. When a driveway stays clear till noon out here, that's a small, real accomplishment against the wind, not the snow.
