CGS Snow & Sanding

About CGS Snow & Sanding

Ice is the real hazard in Grand Forks, not the snow itself — a clear night after a thaw can glaze a driveway or a parking lot overnight, invisible until a tire or a boot finds it the hard way. CGS Snow & Sanding treats that thin, sneaky layer as seriously as the heaviest drift, laying sand across walks and lots along Gateway Drive and University Avenue, treating a clear-looking morning as conditions no one should take at face value. A cold snap here calls for a different kind of attention than a heavy snowfall does, less shoveling and more grit underfoot, working the same routes before the morning rush finds them first. It's a quieter kind of winter work, easy to miss because it's meant to be — a driveway that simply holds instead of one that visibly got cleared. That invisible, unnoticed effort is the whole point of doing it this way.
