About York Lawn Services

On a July evening in Fargo the light hangs on well past nine, and the mowers are still running. York Lawn Services keeps to the grid — north-south streets, numbered avenues, and the narrow alley strips behind the older houses that most people forget are lawn at all. Wind comes in off the open prairie west of town all afternoon and dries a fresh cut fast, so the trimming and edging follow close behind the mower while the blades are still standing up straight. Fertilizing and weed control get timed to the short, hard growing season here, where a lawn has to make its whole year between the last frost and the first one. Come autumn there is leaf raking and one last low pass, and then the yards go quiet under a sky that gets very, very large.
