About Olek Inc.

November is a held breath — the yards gone quiet, the ground going hard and still, and everyone waiting to see which night the freeze takes hold. Olek Inc. gets the yards buttoned up before then, the last cut down low and the leaves off the turf, and then swings the plow on for the months that follow. Winter can come across open ground with nothing to slow it, so drives get pushed back wide, walks get cleared to the step, and the slick spots get treated. In May the mowing and trimming start over and run all summer, week by week. Two halves of one year, and both of them measured by whether the place is usable in the morning.
