South Dickinson has grown out along the flat above the Heart River in the years since the interstate exchange pulled new subdivisions and box stores toward that side of town, streets wider and younger than the sandstone blocks downtown. S Side Ent clears those driveways and cul-de-sacs and the lots along the commercial strip near I-94, working the newer grid before the morning commute funnels onto the interstate. Open ground on that side of town gives the wind a clean run at every rooftop and driveway apron, so drifts build against garage doors in shapes that redraw themselves overnight. Getting a driveway open before a Stark County commuter needs it is a small thing set against badlands winters that can run into April, but it is the thing asked for, and it gets done street by street until the south side is passable again.
