About Capital City Services

October in Bismarck arrives all at once: one week the boulevards are still green, the next there's frost on the truck at six and the ash trees have dropped everything they had overnight. Capital City Services runs the closing rounds — a last low mow, trimming back the ragged edges, clearing leaves off the turf before the ground locks up for good. Grass that goes into a North Dakota winter clean comes out of it far better in April, and that is the whole reasoning behind the final pass. This far north the days shorten fast, so the work starts earlier and the light has gone amber by four in the afternoon. It's a good feeling, leaving a yard tidy right before the hard months.
