Coastal Tree Trimmers

About Coastal Tree Trimmers

There is one sight Wilmington gets maybe once a decade: snow caught in the Spanish moss, the live oaks holding it in their arms while the ground goes silent underneath. Coastal Tree Trimmers works beneath those branches before sunrise, plowing drives, shoveling walks and stairs, and treating the ice that sets up hardest where the canopy keeps the sun off all day. Oak-shaded streets are the last places in town to let go of a freeze, so they are the first ones worth clearing. It is a short season and a strange one, and it asks for equipment standing ready on a day's notice. When the melt comes by afternoon, the walks have already been passable since dawn.
