About Wards Excavation Llc

Snow is a rare guest in Columbus County, and when it visits it arrives all at once — a cold rain that turns over near midnight and glazes the flat green country between Whiteville and the Waccamaw. Wards Excavation turns out for those days, plowing and clearing drives, lots and lanes that had no reason to expect it. Nothing here is built for ice: sandy shoulders, wide farm entrances, pine limbs going down under weight they have never carried. The work is quick and hard, over in a day or two, and then the fields steam in the sun again. For that short window an open drive is the difference between a shut day and a working one.
