About Freedom Stripes LLC

There is an hour in Weaverville, late in the day, when the light comes in low across Elk Mountain and every stripe on a mown lawn stands up like corduroy. Freedom Stripes LLC chases that look — passes laid straight, turns kept tight, the pattern reversed the next visit so the grass stands rather than lies down. The rest is plain and necessary: trimming the places a mower cannot reach, edging the drive, blowing the walks clear before pulling out. A yard cut that way holds its shape all week, which is the entire point. With the Blue Ridge standing over everything here, a lawn with lines in it looks like a small piece of order set against a very large landscape.
