About Sustainable Lawn and Landscape

Up where the South Fork of the New River loops through the pastures, morning arrives as fog first and sunlight second. Sustainable Lawn and Landscape keeps the yards of Watauga on that rhythm — mowing the benches of level ground, edging clean along stone walls, running the trimmer right up to where the rhododendron begins. Mountain grass surges through June and sulks by late August, so the route bends to the weather instead of the calendar. There is a plain satisfaction in the last pass of an afternoon, when the stripes run straight, the clippings are blown back off the gravel, and the whole place looks like somebody meant it. That is the work: lawn care in Watauga and the valleys that fold in around it.
