Late in the day the Brushy Mountains go blue along the western edge of Iredell County, and the hayfields around Union Grove hold the last of the light. Myers Lawn Care runs until then — mowing, edging, trimming around barns and posts and mailboxes, walks and drives blown clear while the light lasts. Beds get mulched and shrubs get shaped so the front of a house reads clean from the road. Fertilization, weed control, aeration and overseeding keep turf thick through the swing from a wet spring to a dry August. Fall brings the oak leaves down, and they get cleared and hauled until the yard shows its shape again.
