Dogwood & Pi

About Dogwood & Pi

In Tryon the dogwoods open along Trade Street before the hills have finished waking, and by then the mowers are already out. Dogwood & Pi keeps yards cut, edged and cleared through a foothill spring, when one warm rainy week can turn a lawn into a meadow. The last pass of the day is the one worth standing back for: stripes running straight, the walk edged to a clean line, the clippings blown back off the sidewalk. As the season stretches out, the work settles into a rhythm that the grass sets rather than the calendar. It is a small pride, repeatable every week, and it shows from the road.
