About Ian's Tree Service

Out at Stump Sound the water lies behind the barrier island, marsh grass bending with the tide and live oaks holding low and wide against the salt wind. Ian's Tree Service works this Onslow County shoreline country — removing pines and oaks that have gone unsound, trimming canopies back from roofs and decks, pruning to shape trees that take their weather straight off the Atlantic. When a storm pushes through, the crew is out opening yards and driveways, cutting the fallen down to a size that will move and carrying it away. Late summer evenings here smell of salt and fresh-cut wood at the same time. The mark of a finished day is a lot swept clean with the sound light still on it.
