Blake's Lawn Care

About Blake's Lawn Care

Six in the morning in Stedman, and the pine straw along the shoulder is still soaked with dew while the first light comes sideways through the trunks. Blake's Lawn Care runs the early routes — mower down before the heat, blades cutting clean, edges trimmed along the walk and driveway, everything blown off the concrete before the truck pulls away. These are short streets with front porches on them, and the lawns sit close enough together that one unkempt yard changes the whole block. Cutting, trimming, edging, straw and leaf cleanup: a small list, done steadily. By the time the day gets hot, half the town looks better than it did at dawn.
