About Harper Landscaping Inc.

Fog sits on Contentnea Creek most mornings in the shoulder seasons, white and low, and burns off the fields around Stantonsburg by mid-morning. Harper Landscaping Inc. is usually already out in it. The work runs from the routine to the shaping kind: mowing and string trimming, edge lines cut along concrete and bed borders, hedges and shrubs kept in proportion, mulch refreshed, cleanups when the pecans and gums drop. Flat land is forgiving to walk and unforgiving to look at — a crooked line shows for a hundred yards — so the passes are made straight and the corners squared. Around Stantonsburg, Saratoga and Walstonburg, a tidy yard reads as a kind of good manners, and it is a fine thing to be the reason for it.
