About JP's Lawn & Tree

Sandy Ridge sits up near the Virginia line in Stokes County, where the fields roll and the Dan River draws its slow line through the bottomland below. Mornings stay cool here well into June, and JP's Lawn & Tree is usually rolling before the dew burns off. The work is mowing, trimming and edging — big yards with barns and fencerows, small ones tucked along the state road, every one of them cut even and finished at the borders. There is something plain and good about a country lawn kept sharp against all that open land. Sandy Ridge, Westfield, Danbury and the roads toward the state line are the run.
